Government Department Building - Newcastle
This was a very large project which involved a rather complex campus site housing 1,000 staff members.
We provided and installed a new backbone fibre infrastructure that included both single and multimode fibres across 11 buildings. The task was made even more challenging as the original ducting routes in the buildings were not known. The core fibres had to be installed in a way that allowed a diverse route from two main communications rooms to over 45 different rooms across the site.
In total, 4,212 spliced terminations were completed on site using the latest Fujikura FMS50 splicer. In addition to the fibre requirements, we also installed over 5,000 Cat5e copper links between cabinets within each of the 45 communications rooms.
